Signs your week might have been a bit MUCH… Led a 90-minute workshop today with the hope of encouraging pediatric palliative care providers to gift themselves the same compassionate care they offer others so generously. We spent time reflecting, sharing, and developing growth mindsets as a healing practice. As a doula, I not only want to provide direct care, I also strive to support the other members of care teams. What amazing work I’m fortunate to do. <3 Donation deliveries going out today for The Humane Prison Hospice Project and Safe Crossings Foundation (children’s grief support). Many hands make light work <3 Today was one of those days that reminded me life can be marvelous and magical—blue skies, buttery corduroy, time with my fave teenage son, and some quiet solo runs. Carved turns until my legs gave out. Bliss. When you’re a hockey mom but you’re also under contract to build out content for a grief workgroup. He practices, I work. Just the exhale I needed this morn. And the first half was spent with my favorite 15 year-old kid <3. Publishing a book is an UNDERTAKING. What goes into it? Heaps of inspiration, ideas, stories, research, and time, plus some grit. As I near the final stretch of my new book’s gestation, I’m looking back on the journey… Doula heart communion!
